Sometimes in life you just have to truck on. That’s how I feel right now. I have highs and lows but I am mostly on the good side of things. Sewing is my therapy and I am determined to reduce my stash of fabrics to help me in downsizing.
The initial layout turned out to be too small for my taste (it’ll be a present for my niece) so I doubled the layout. Then I had the glorious idea of turning the rag quilt into a sleeping bag if wanted. So I made ties.
The ties are made from scrap flannel that is used in the quilt so it’ll go nicely. The plan is to sew one tie to each square’s side so that once the quilt is folded, two ties will meet and can be used to to tie a bow.
For now, this is what it looks like. I promise a picture of the completed rag quilt (with ties, clipped, and washed) once I am done with it. But I’ll leave you with a few close ups of the fabrics used. It’s all flannel from JoAnns and Hancock Fabrics.
